Usher's fiancee speaks out about wedding

On Saturday morning, Usher was supposed to get married to Tameka Foster, but the nuptials were canceled amid rumors that the singer's mother was against the relationship. Tameka Foster was supposed to marry the R&B singer on Saturday and is pregnant with the couple's first child. Usher reportedly canceled the wedding at the last minute because Jonetta Patton, the former manager of her son was against the wedding. In fact, Jonetta Patton wasn't going to be at the wedding, after being left off the guest list for her negative feelings towards the union.

Tameka Foster denies that her relationship with her potential mother-in-law had anything to do with the cancellation. Foster spoke to People about Usher not becoming a groom and said, "No one knows why we canceled the wedding, but I can tell you that all of the reasons that everyone is speculating and writing about are completely untrue.

There were even rumors that Tameka Foster was rushed to the hospital after the wedding was canceled because she went into premature labor with Usher's baby. She denied those stories too, telling People, "We had a scare. But, I am fine and the baby is fine." Usher and Tameka Foster were scheduled to wed on Saturday at L.A. Reid's Hamptons estate but it was called off only two hours before it was supposed to begin. The 100 or so wedding guests coming to the ceremony, including Beyonce Knowles, Jay-Z, Janet Jackson, and Ashanti, were given no reason for the cancellation.

So, what happened? Over the weekend, People magazine quoted a source as saying, Usher's mother [and former manager, Jonetta Patton, whom he fired in May] is against the wedding. That is one of the main obstacles." That source said, "They only decided two weeks ago to have a wedding. They wanted to have it take place before the baby bump started showing." However, a different source told People that, very simply, "Usher changed his mind." The New York Daily News also quoted a source who said that there had been some negotiation about the ceremony, and about a prenuptial agreement, which Tameka Foster did sign. "Usher conceded to some of her terms," said one source, while another said, "started having second thoughts again," during his bachelor party Thursday night. "He was obviously troubled that Jonetta wasn't coming." Finally, a source told the Daily News that, " Usher woke up on Saturday and said he couldn't go through with it. Apparently, he also couldn't bring himself to call all the people who were invited. He had the wedding planner call everyone in the wedding party."
